3. Camera Angle and Wearing Guide
Correct installation and camera angle are essential for obtaining stable and valid first-person-view data. Before formal recording, follow the steps below to complete device installation, wearing, and view confirmation.
Installation and Alignment (Before Wearing)
- Install the camera onto the fixed mount at the front of the head strap.
- Refer to the scale marks on the mount and set an initial angle. For tabletop hand operations, the last or second-to-last scale mark may be used as the initial reference.
- Make sure the camera and mount are secure and have no noticeable looseness.
Wear the Device and Arrange the Cable
- Adjust the head strap for a stable and comfortable fit.
- Put on the head-mounted device and center the camera in front of the forehead.
- Secure the USB data cable using the cable clip on the side of the strap.
- Recommended: route the USB cable behind the ear and toward the back to avoid interference.

Connect for Live View Preview
- Connect the device to a desktop/laptop computer using a USB data cable.
- After power-on, short-press the button to enter Webcam mode and select the device in the camera app;
- Use the preview to confirm the recording view and ensure the target area is fully visible.
Note
To view the live image on other devices or applications, use a compatible data cable, such as USB-C to USB-C.
Adjust and Lock the Camera Angle
- Adjust the camera tilt while maintaining a normal wearing position;
- Ensure the target area and key task elements are fully visible, centered, and not cropped;
- Tighten the mount once the view is correct;
- Recheck the live image to confirm the angle has not shifted;
- Disconnect the device from the computer and proceed to recording.
4. Data Collection and Recording
After previewing and adjusting the angle, disconnect the device from the computer and connect it to the USB power source or Power Box.
The device will power on and start recording automatically.
Connect the Power Source for Formal Recording
- Disconnect the device from the computer used for live view preview.
- Connect the device to a stable USB power source or a fully charged Power Box.
- Make sure the cable is properly secured and will not pull on the device or interfere with the user's operation.
Confirm That Recording Has Started
- By default, the device will automatically power on when connected to a power source.
- After about 3 seconds, two short beeps (beep-beep) indicate recording has started. The blue LED flashes slowly during recording.
- Confirm recording status using the beep and LED indicator.
During Recording
- Maintain continuous and stable power to the device.
- Do not remove the microSD card or disconnect the power source.
- Avoid touching the mount or changing the wearing position.
- Prevent the USB data cable from being pulled, tangled, or interfering with the user's operation.
- If abnormal beeps or LED indications occur, pause the task and check the device.
6. Data Export and File Check
Export Data
Tip
Make sure the corresponding .mp4 and .gcsv files are completely copied and kept in the same folder.
Check the Collected Files
- Confirm that the video files can be opened and played normally.
- Confirm that the recording duration is generally consistent with the actual task duration.
- Check that the target area and key task elements are fully visible.
- The video file and its corresponding IMU data file use the same file name and differ only in the file extension.
- After completing the check, name, categorize, and back up the files according to the project requirements.
- After confirming the backup, format the microSD card if needed for the next task.
Device Cannot Power On
- Low Built-in Battery Level: Connect the device to a stable USB power source and charge for at least 30 minutes before retrying.
- USB Power Source or Data Cable Issue: Check the USB power source and cable, ensure a secure connection, or try another cable/power source.
- Device Failed to Start: With stable USB power connected, press and hold the Power/Record button to restart the device.
Note
If the device still cannot power on, press the reset hole with a thin pin to perform a forced reset, then reconnect power and retry.
Device Cannot Power Off Normally
- Confirm recording has stopped and the blue LED is steady.
- Disconnect the external USB power supply if the device remains unresponsive.
- Press and hold the Power/Record button until the blue LED turns off.
Note
If the device still cannot power off normally, press the reset hole with a thin pin to perform a forced reset.
Device Cannot Record
microSD Card Issue
- If a microSD card error is detected after power-on, the blue LED flashes rapidly and the device emits three short beeps (beep-beep-beep).
- Confirm the microSD card is correctly inserted.
- Confirm the file system is FAT32 or exFAT.
- Confirm sufficient storage space is available.
- Confirm the microSD card is rated U3 or higher.
- If necessary, back up the data using a computer, then reformat the microSD card or test with another card that meets the requirements.
External Power Supply Issue
- Confirm the USB power source provides continuous and stable power.
- Confirm the USB data cable is secure, undamaged, and properly connected.
- Confirm the Power Box has sufficient power.
- After a power interruption, reconnect a stable power source and confirm the recording status.
